Our goal is to deliver an amazing
STEM camp experience.
We keep the process as simple as possible.
Once you're ready to sign up as a camp director, you become responsible for hosting and running your camp. Never fear, however, we're with you every step of the way to make the process simple. Start with the Run a Camp page and we'll take you through a step-by-step process. After you submit some basic information and create a password, you’ll get access to a personalized dashboard to manage all your camp details.
Log into your dashboard whenever it's convenient to complete all the steps to run a camp. You’ll move from step to step at your own pace. These are the steps. It’s easier than you might think.
Camp set up
Sign an Agreement
Sign a third-party contractor form agreeing to Flint's terms and conditions. This allows you run a camp.
Decide on the dates for your camp (one full week, Monday-Friday, usually mid to late summer).
Decide on a Location
Identify and secure a location for your camp (we spell out all the requirements).
Provide Your Background
Tell us about your credentials, and complete a background check form (we need to ensure you are qualified and that campers are in good hands).
Provide a few housekeeping details (W-9, payment preference, etc.) so we can establish your camp in our system. Let's do this!
Start recruiting campers. Don't worry, we'll help you! We provide a "marketing toolkit" with downloadable flyers and email templates, social media posts and other helpful materials and advice to attract students to your camp. Once 40 students are signed up, your camp is on! You can have up to 100 campers (and the more students attend, the more you get paid).
Sign up Teaching Assistants (typically STEM-savvy high school or college students). You'll need at least two for a 40-person camp, and more for larger camps (they'll sign contractor forms also).
As soon as you reach the minimum enrollment (of 40 campers) we'll send you the first $500 of your compensation (your total compensation is based on the number of paying students in your camp – from $1,000 for 40 students, up to $1,600 for 100 students). You'll receive the balance of your compensation after the camp is completed.
Several weeks before your camp begins you'll receive boxes with all your camp materials, gadgets and instructions. Open them and check everything out to make sure it's ready to go.
Run your camp
Your dashboard will provide detailed help, information and instructions for running your camp. Younger campers (students going into 5th & 6th grades) attend half-day sessions in the morning, Monday-Friday. Older campers (students going into 7th & 8th grades) attend half-day sessions in the afternoon the same week. You'll use the same activities for the morning and the afternoon sessions. There are 2-4 activities per day, and you'll get complete step-by-step instructions for each activity.
Send the Box Back
After your camp, pack up the materials and gadgets and send the box back (we pay the shipping cost).
Final Payment to You
After we receive and check in your materials, we'll send you the balance of your compensation. Teaching Assistants receive 100% of their pay ($400 each) from us after the camp is complete.
